SPECIAL FEATURES Ogopogo is a luxury housekeeping cottage resort on Mountain Lake in the Haliburton Highlands, only 2-1/2 hours from Toronto. Catering to couples and families, Ogopogo is a perfect getaway destination to relax or enjoy the natural beauty that is Haliburton. Your hosts, Diana and Stewart, want to assist guests to experience all of what the Highlands have to offer. All cottages are fully equipped and we can also cater gourmet dinners and/or Spa services directly to your cottage.
INTERIOR DESCRIPTION Our cottages are immaculate and modern. All were either built or totally renovated in the past few years. All cottages have fully equipped kitchens, most have fireplaces and some have two-person Jacuzzi baths in the Master bedroom. They have decks or covered porches looking over the lake.
EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION If you are interested in a quiet relaxing holiday, you will enjoy Ogopogo in any season. There is a safe sand beach, swimming and fishing docks, canoes, kayaks and paddleboats for the complementary use of guests, heated swimming pool, children's playground, shuffleboard and lots of space to sit and enjoy the lake. The gardens of Ogopogo are beautiful throughout the spring and summer and in the fall the trees blaze with colour. In winter, we have ice skating and ice fishing on the lake.
ACTIVITIES NEARBY Haliburton offers an immense array of activities and Ogopogo has arranged packages with many local partners to offer these actvities. In summer, there are 5 golf courses nearby, hiking and biking trails, fishing, waterskiing, the Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre and Walk in the Clouds. Algonquin Park is less than an hour away. We can also arrange visits to local artists studios and antique shops. In winter, ice fishing, ice skating and direct access to cross country skiing and snowmobiling are all available on-site. Nearby are downhill skiing, dogsledding, snowshoeing and luge.
